Quarter Window Priming and Curing Cell
If you have a robot that’s out of commission, we can often reprogram it to perform new functions. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?
In this example, we reprogrammed our customer’s old Motoman to prime one piece of glass within 30 to 60 seconds, depending on the model and quantity of primer needed. The robot uses quick-disconnect tool-changers to apply two different types of primer and then two cameras check to verify that the primer path was applied correctly.
This cell is designed to run eight different models of quarter windows to reduce changeovers. Once primed, the robot puts the glass on an indexing heater conveyor for curing before it goes on to be encapsulated.
